About Angela

A Multi-Talented Teacher

Angela holds two Bachelor's degrees, one in music and one in theater. She earned her first degree at just 19, graduating from the music college in Vladikavkaz, Russia, and began teaching music in her hometown soon after. Many of her early students went on to become professional musicians.

Her passion for the arts kept growing, so she returned to school for a second degree in Performing Arts at the university named after Kosta Khetagurov, specializing in theater, film acting, stage movement, stage speech, ballet fundamentals, and classical vocal. In her third year, she was invited to perform in a production at the Music Theater in Vladikavkaz and remained a core member of the company for the rest of her studies.

From Vladikavkaz to Chicago

A career built on real stages, now brought into every lesson.

After graduating, Angela moved to Moscow and worked as an actress at the Music Theater Lehaim, all while continuing to give private piano and vocal lessons and exploring film work, including a stint at the International Film Festival Kinotavr in Sochi. A tour with Music Theater Lehaim brought her to Chicago, where she was invited to stay and work in the United States. She accepted, performing in several American productions.

After marrying and having a child, Angela stepped back from touring to focus on her family, private lessons, and stage direction. She founded and ran her own youth theater, Arlecchino, where she worked as stage manager for kids across age groups, blending theater, music, and ballet into one creative home for young performers.

Angela believes music and theater shape children into confident, well-rounded thinkers who aren't afraid to see the world differently, and she brings that belief into every lesson at Toguz Music and Performing Arts.
